This collaboration with Horrible Adorables brought attention to the incredible artistry of husband and wife team, Jordan Elise Perme and Christopher Lees and Horrible Adorables was awarded Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the Designer Toy Awards. Horrible Adorables features strange creatures and wonderful wonders that for the first time were captured in vinyl art figures and packaged in collectible window boxes. Jordan Elise Perme & Christopher Lees are the creators of Horrible Adorables. They dream up the creatures in the most peculiar part of her imagination. With a passion for novelty repeat patterns and silly objects, she works as a freelance toy and textile designer.

About Horrible Adorables

Horrible Adorables are the creations of Jordan Elise Perme and Christopher Lees; a wife and husband team from Cleveland, Ohio. They met at the Cleveland Institute of Art where Jordan graduated with her BFA in Fiber & Material Studies, and Chris was pursuing training in fine arts after completing his BS in Mechanical Engineering.

Jordan and Chris bring their soft sculptures to life by meticulously arranging patterns of felt scales onto hand carved forms. The resulting characters have qualities that are both cartoonish and eerily realistic at the same time. Horrible Adorables are strange hybrid creatures from a fantastical world. Their facial expressions and postures reveal recognizably human emotions.

Kidrobot has worked with Jordan Elise Perme & Christopher Lees/Horrible Adorables on custom Horrible Adorable busts for Kidrobot.com, the Care Bears Share Bear Purple Art Figure and the Care Bears Share Bear Green Art Figure from the Care Bears Female Artist Series and The Curly Horned Dunnylope 5" Dunny Art Figure releasing at the end of May 2018.
